CODEPINK has been awesome in St. Louis since 2006 and has nearly 1000 members. The term "CODEPINK" is derived from the terror alert levels of being afraid (code red, code yellow, etc) and we are saying CODE PINK as we are tired of being afraid! We plan direct actions, creative education trainings, and through our weekly visible bannering presence we inspire our community with the message of peace. A few highlights of our year: Medea Benjamin, co-founder of CODEPINK visited St.Louis for International Women's Day, we PINKed Clair McCaskills office, and we arranged trips to DC, NewOrleans 9th ward, V-Day, and RNC.
CODEPINK members in St. Louis are a diverse group of social workers, teachers, long-time activists, artists, students, and parents- all concerned about preventing the next war, our domestic, foreign, and economic policies, and creatively participating for peace so as to empower themselves to keep going!
